Into the Fire!

After almost two years, I had a carnatic music performance today.

Lately, I've been dividing my attention towards music between western, filmy and classical music - and this, was evident in my performance.

It's very important to maintain that balance between the various kinds of music that you learn.

I've been singing Carnatic music for fifteen years now, but I've never claimed to be brilliant at it!

I'm okay and maybe with a lot of practice, I can be good; but I'm not sure how far I will go with it.

Maybe it's a mental block or maybe it's just that way!

But I think it's time for me to pull my socks up and work harder than ever!

This is a whole new journey and my Gatorade is the feeling I get when I've performed well!

Oh Rahi Re!

"Raahi Re O Raahi Re, Kisi Ko Nahi Hai Pata,

These lines are exactly what a girl who is all set out to step into the world to make a place for herself, is thinking. But I'm not thinking it, I'm singing it.

That's right. They say that everyone has a calling in this world, and my calling is to sing - for myself, for you and the rest of the world.

My dream is going to make me take a path that isn't defined - but that's not going to stop me.

Battling with practicality, my horoscope and my own insecurities, I'm stepping out to do everything I can to be what I want to be.

This is a blog where I want to chronicle my journey and let the world know that I'm here to stay.

Like the Secret says, "Ask the Universe and it will deliver!"

So Universe, here goes - help me make my dream come true!
